TIDAL MQA & MAX icons

MQA & MAX icons

To help with selecting the highest quality versions of TIDAL music, MQA and MAX icons MQA MAX show next to any music that TIDAL have flagged as being high resolution.

Most of these high-resolution albums also have regular redbook versions on TIDAL servers, so you will often see duplicate albums when searching. Look for the MQA icon and MAX icon to distinguish between them.

These icons also appear in other parts of the LUMIN app - The Playlist (see below) and also the 'Now Playing' song title.

Note: Bit Rate and Sample Rate vary between MQA and MAX songs. The actual figures will be displayed in the 'Now Playing' area.

TIDAL MQA icons

Playlist icons

As Playlists can contain music from a mixture of sources, there are icons to help you distinguish between them.

TIDAL music carries the TIDAL icon unless it is also MQA-encoded, in which case the MQA icon is used.

The example here shows a playlist constructed from a mixture of different sources.
